Twin Thousands s/t Full Length & More

My good friends Gretta (Cursive, Bright Eyes) and Ryan (A Million Billion, Power Player) have digitally released their long-awaited full length for their Brooklyn band Twin Thousands.  Plenty of talented people came together to create this stirring record and you can find out more by visiting their myspace page and official band website.  I can't accurately describe how good this album makes me feel, but I do strongly recommend listening to some of the clips online to get a sense of what this group has put together.  Also available are two other very limited EP's; "3 Songs" (which ships with a silkscreened design from Ryan and I on Stumptown Printers' smartly engineered Arigato packaging) and the "Like You A Lot" EP (featuring the exponentially catchy single and two bonus remixes of the title track).  They've been playing around the Northeast corridor lately, so be sure to see if you can get on board next time they come through town.

Busy busy busy busy busy.

I guess I'm a little too busy learning a bit of web development and taking care of non-personal design projects to finish some paintings or release any new prints. There is a light at the end of the tunnel for the new year however, so until then, feel free to visit my bigcartel page to see the handful of prints remaining. Thanks for taking a look...more soon.

Golden Spurs // Trapdoor Studios

Golden Spurs is a trio of solid dudes from Massachusetts who have been tracking with my man Jared Colby at his Trapdoor Recording Studios for their last two releases. Their six-track, self-titled EP was dropped last year and has been followed up by their full length release "West Mountain". Their diverse sound ranges from angular hardcore-influenced rock to blues-based grooves with a few soulful acoustic tracks for good measure. This maturing group of promising young guys has plenty to look forward to with steady appearances around New England. To hear what I've been helping out with, visit their page over at www.myspace.com/goldenspursma

If you or your group need capable yet cost-effective engineering for your recording project, you should see what Jared at Trapdoor can do for you at www.myspace.com/trapdoorrecording

"Invitation Air" by The Ginger Envelope

Earlier this summer, The Ginger Envelope tapped me to create a layout for their latest full-length entitled "Invitation Air" for One Percent Press.  The Athens, Georgia indie-folk group has a warm sound behind singer Patrick Carey's distinct voice and the live set I caught at New York's Cake Shop accurately captured the recorded sound of this release.  Do yourself a favor and click towards their Myspace page (www.myspace.com/thegingerenvelope) to hear the songs or even take a look at One Percent's page (www.onepercentpress.com) to secure your own digipak copy.

"Teeth on the Wheel" by Kalpana

The cover for "Teeth on the Wheel" is my third for Kalpana, a Brooklyn/Philadelphia-based post-rock band that I have been lucky to write and perform with for the better part of my adulthood (Plug: the album is currently available on a pay-what-you-can-afford basis over at KalpanaMusic.com). If my to do list gives me a break, I might be able to follow through on plans for limited edition art prints based on the cover in the near future.
